Malta is diveable year-round. The Mediterranean's enclosed geography means no significant swell for most of the year, and water clarity is consistently excellent. Summer months bring glass-flat conditions and 24–27°C water. Winter diving is popular with experienced divers who appreciate empty sites and 20–25m visibility.
Generally light. Some northern sites see mild current at the arch. Always manageable with guide planning.
May through October. Peak summer gives the warmest water and flattest conditions. Book ahead in July and August.
Among the best in the Mediterranean. Average 22–32m depending on season. Harbour sites slightly less than open coast.
Any agency accepted. SSI, PADI, CMAS, BSAC, or equivalent. Any cert level welcome for Malta sites. Deeper Gozo sites and Blue Hole require AOW or equivalent. Bring proof as a physical card or screenshot.
